The Installation meeting of the Kent Preceptory of St George No 629 was held on Tuesday 20th December.
The meeting was special for a number of reasons, being it's tenth anniversary and held in the presence of the Right Eminent Provincial Prior R.E. Kt Kessick John Jones, K.C.T. who was warmly welcomed and congratulated on his recent appointment which was enthusiastically applauded by all.
The meeting flowed smoothly and E.Kt. Jason Cameron-Potter installed Kt. Frank Lucas Powell as Eminent Preceptor.
The R.E. Provincial Prior congratulated both the new Eminent Preceptor and the installing Preceptor on an extremely good ceremony and quipped that this was the first time anyone had seen Jason Cameron-Potter nervous.
On a slightly sad note E.Kt. Roy Pike stood down as Registrar. It was pointed out that Roy was not just a founding member of St Georges but Registrar from the outset and tribute was paid to his tireless and stalwart effort in establishing the Preceptory. All those present showed their appreciation with generous and heartfelt applause.
The festive board went with it's usual festive aplomb with crackers, balloons, bangs and streamers. The evening culminated with a touch of class for the cabaret with a young classical tenor Matthew Crane.
A most enjoyable meeting was had by all.
